In the context of Baroque architecture, the floor plan served as the focal thinking tool for design, allowing the sources of geometric forms as well as mathematical operations to take center stage. Space is seen as the empty part after the cutting operation (boolean and trim) from the monolithic volume, and the remaining entity becomes the Poche. The thickness of the wall is a combination of structural, internal and external surfaces, holes and geometric forms. Here, the interior and exterior surfaces are in focus.
Venturi's 'Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture' provides more observational weapons to interpret architecture. The decomposition of surfaces into UV panels in modeling software, the manipulation of Loft in Rhino to form continuous surfaces, and the dependence of substructures on the primary structure are all tools of specific significance that are also shaping our way of thinking, making the various systems of contemporary architecture more and more independent and recognizable. The modern layering of planes is gradually dissolved, and what emerges are sculptural objects, discrete entities constructed by objects with multiple semantic meanings.
